Humankind has been driven underground, partly because of the frigid temperatures of the ice age, the other part is even more chilling, they are being hunted. Those lucky enough to live, develop a thriving colony, connected by a sophisticated labyrinth of tunnels and cities, not only surviving but flourishing. The unlucky ones are captured and forced into slavery, laboring in conditions derived from real life events, with a twist, their captors are highly sophisticated colonies of enlarged insects. After watching the needless suffering and bloody sacrifices of his people, Kao unites all the human slave clans, fighting for and wining their freedom. During their fight to be free from bondage, humans had set off a series of events that caused a great flood, covering the World. Kao's vision, build a world of equality, based on science and love, his first act, to grant his former oppressors' clemency. Welcoming them into the community with open arms, however, this sows the seeds of unrest in Tol, his desire is militarization of the community, mass genocide and enslavement of anyone or anything standing in his way. After much political conflict, it looks as if Tol has been pacified by Kao, even embracing Kao's message, and helping to bring more inclusion to all the citizens. Once this new city-state reaches it pinnacle, Kao is betrayed by Tol. Afterwards, Tol unleashes his private army upon any who stand in opposition of his vision. Kao's legacy of love is thought lost to the sounds of time, destroyed by Tol's rapid colonization of the Earth. Tol's rage pollutes everything he touches, filtering down through time, affecting every other era in some way. Almost 15,000 years in the future, Kao's echo is heard by the most unlikely person, Oriana. A struggling young woman, portrayed in her 20's, has just earned a job normally denied people of her background in the caste system dominating every portion of her life. Oriana has a deadly secret, in her drive for improving her life, she found the key to improving everyone's lives. What is left of humanity has sought refuge in low Earth Orbit, struggling to survive with what few resources they can recover from the surface. Burying their dark past along the way, now their new world has fallen into peril. Does Oriana risk everything she has worked for by revealing her own deadly secret to complete her mission? Or does she risk the future of humanity to save herself? Drawing upon the long-lost voices of the past, Oriana struggles with demons buried long ago and the growing turmoil within.
