G. K. Chesterton (1874-1936) was a leading English author, philosopher and critic. He was described by George Bernard Shaw as "a man of colossal genius" who employed wit and humour while making series comments on world affairs. During his life he wrote poetry, essays, short stories and novels and is most famous for his character Father Brown.
