Nowadays, many people are becoming involved in two, three and more cultures at the same time. This phenomenon is explained by the fact that globalization in the 20th century has affected almost all the spheres of human life. The language is no exception, which, under the influence of globalization is undergoing significant changes. These transformations are caused, first of all by the direct influence of other cultures, as well as by the invasion of Western values into the Arab world. It should be noted that such situations are caused, first of all, by different circumstances, such as immigration, inter-ethnic marriages, educational programs, living in multilingual countries. The countries of the Arab East are one of such multilingual multicultural regions, where in addition to the Arabs, such ethnic groups as Jews, Armenians, Turks, Persians, Greeks and many other peoples coexist with each other. In this work, the main attention is paid to the consideration of the main issues ofmultilingualism in Algeria and casually are touched upon the peculiarities of multilingualism in other countries of the Maghreb.
