Dr. Denise Scott is a pediatrician and pediatric endocrinologist who spent almost three decades practicing medicine. She attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, pediatric residency at the Children's Hospital of Oklahoma, and pediatric endocrine fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. After several years in research and academic medicine, Dr. Scott entered private practice with The Pediatric Group, PLLC in Oklahoma City, where she practiced for over twenty-five years. She collaborated with ten other pediatricians to establish the first pediatric after-hours urgent care clinics in Oklahoma City.After many years caring for children, she became board certified in culinary medicine to bring this specialty to pediatrics. She is a medical contributor on pediatric topics to various online magazines, including romper.com, parents.com, thebump.com, and oprah.com.Dr. Scott and her husband, a pediatric ophthalmologist, have three adult children in the healthcare field. She enjoys hiking in the mountains, traveling with her family, cooking, and reading, especially nonfiction, historical fiction, and thrillers.
