Investigating the major problems and to see rospects of micro-enterprises development is a timely concern in Ethiopia. Because many urban poor women and jobless youth are highly engaging in this low- earning sector than of others faced with many interrelated problems (financila, social, individual and institutional)in providing their products and services to their customers. Furthermore, the sector is currently explored as one of the strategies by the government of Ethiopia to reduce poverty and urban unemployment problem through encouraging the existing micro-enterprises and creating new ones by providing necessary support and thereby improve income levels of the urban poor. Therefore, this book identifies the problems facing female-headed micro-enterprises and situations that augment future visions for the development of the sector.
