The last frontier of violence against women / The last frontier of violence against women. This book deals with the crime of femicide as typified by Law No. 13.104, of 9 March 2015, which amended Article 121 of Decree-Law No. 2.848, of 7 December 1940 - the Penal Code, to provide for femicide as a qualifying circumstance for the crime of homicide. To this end, the first chapter analyses the historical aspects of violence against women and their constant subordination to the male figure through patriarchy. The second chapter will conceptualise the term feminicide, with its various definitions and concepts in the countries where the term is used and the different types of feminicide. The third chapter will look at the standardisation of the crime of femicide, starting from the legal point of view in the various countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. The fourth and final chapter deals with the definition of the crime and the factual aspects that led to the definition of this extreme form of aggression in Brazil. It will examine everything from the Senate Bill No. 292/2013 to the law passed on 9 March 2015.
