Brigitta Gisela Geltrich-Ludgate was born in Kitale, Kenya, British East Africa. She received her public-school education in Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Canada. She was an ardent reader from a young age on and started to write books with the age of seven. Her most favorite authors in younger years were Hans Christian Anderson, the Brothers Grimm, and Ludwig Bechstein. At college age her favorite writers were Schiller, Goethe, and Kafka. Brigitta Gisella Geltrich-Ludgate studied Germanic Culture and Folklore at the University of Arizona (BA and MA degrees) and continued with her PhD studies in Germanic Linguistics and Germanic Culture and Folklore at the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of California Los Angeles. She holds an Associate's Degree in Creative Writing from the Palmer's Writing School. Among her published books are several children books: Tales and Bedtime Stories, The Muddy Little Bell, The Little People of Oakcreek, Cindy the Balcony Cocoon, and Jet the Cat. Her advent book Let Us Celebrate the Season! is for all ages.
