After a full career in education and business, Mary shifted her focus to writing and creativity. In 2016, she published her first work of fiction, Fertile Soil: Stories of the California Dream. Her award-winning, historical fiction novel, In This Land of Plenty, a family saga based on California history, debuted in 2020. Felipe the Frog Learns to Swim is her first children's book and the first story in the bilingual Tropical Tales series.
