The following text presents the work generated over a decade of fertilizing alfalfa(Medicago sativa L.) with vermicompost. Through analysis of scientific experiments, inorganic and organic sources based on vermicompost were compared with very similar results in terms of green forage production, dry matter, crude protein and some macrominerals. This similarity of results allows us to have a broader view of a soil fertilizer method that is capable of nourishing the plants; and as an added value it is an improver of the physical and chemical characteristics of the surface dedicated to agricultural production.
