This book highlights the main advances in fiber electronics, like fiber-shaped solar cells, batteries, supercapacitors, sensors, light-emitting devices, memristors and communication devices from the standpoints of material synthesis, structure design and property enhancement. It focuses on revealing the separation and transport mechanisms of charges, establishing transport equations for electrons and ions, and emphasizing integration methods in fiber devices. In closing, it reviews emerging applications based on fiber devices that could accelerate their large-scale production in the near future. Professor Huisheng Peng is currently Changjiang Chair Professor at the Department of Macromolecular Science and Laboratory of Advanced Materials at Fudan University. He received his B.Eng. in Polymer Materials at Donghua University in China in 1999, M.Sc. in Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics at Fudan University in China in 2003 and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Tulane University in USA in 2006. He then worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory before joining Fudan University in 2008. His research is focused on pioneering the new direction of fiber electronics. He and co-workers have invented a new family of fiber-shaped energy harvesting devices including perovskite solar cells and fluidic generators, fiber-shaped energy storage devices including lithium-ion batteries, lithium-sulfur batteries and metal-air batteries, fiber-shaped light-emitting devices and fiber-shaped sensors. Professor Peng has published over 270 peer-reviewed papers and written 5 books. He has applied 121patents and obtained 72 licensed patents with 41 royally transferred to the industry for commercialization.
