Maximum monosaccharides can be released from paddy straw (ADT 43 variety) when it is treated with cellulase and xylanase (80 and 100 IU per g DM, respectively) for 24 hours. Enzyme treatment of paddy straw remarkably improves digestibility of Dry matter (DM) and fiber fractions, however enzyme supplementation is less effective compared to enzyme treatment of paddy straw. Enzyme treatment of paddy straw is comparable to that of urea treatment of paddy straw.
