The book reviews Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Akachi Adimora-Ezeigbo's works. The author affirms that literature, as a mirror of life should centre around realistic facts so that a reader who perhaps is not from the author's background will tend to understand the way of life of the people represented by the author. The Dr Uche Nnyagu is optimistic that this book will serve as a guide to the understanding and appreciation of contemporary African fiction. Although the major authors reviewed in this text are from the same tribe in Nigeria, references where necessary, were made to other African and non African writers alike. This work uses the Sociological approach to analyze the novels since the novelists centred their works on contemporary facts about Nigerian society.
