Daniel E. Martínez Pina has devoted his life to both ornithology and illustration. A birder since his early childhood, he has travelled all over the country and is the co-author and illustrator of many books on the birds of this spectacular region. Gonzalo E. González Cifuentes is an author and tour leader based in Santiago, Chile. He is the author of Aves de Chile, published in English by Helm as Birds of Chile. A birder from the age of 13, he has been guiding since 1999 and is a partner in Birding Chile, a Chilean company specialising in Birding and Nature Tours. Gonzalo has worked in environmental consulting, mainly in the extreme north of Chile, and has published some papers about Chilean birds. He's currently one of the Associate Editors of the Revista Chilena de Ornitologia (Chilean Journal of Ornithology).
