Autorenporträt
Gert Hofmann wurde 1931 in Limbach / Sachsen geboren. Nach dem Studium in Leipzig und Freiburg lehrte er an mehreren Universitäten im Ausland Literaturwissenschaft, bis er sich als freier Autor in Erding bei München niederließ. Sein Werk wurde unter anderem mit dem Ingeborg-Bachmann-Preis und zuletzt mit dem Literaturpreis der Landeshauptstadt München ausgezeichnet. Vier Wochen nach Abgabe des Manuskripts für seinen letzten Roman "Die kleine Stechardin" starb Gert Hofmann 1993 in Erding.
