This study dealt with the figurative language in Lua-Lua Mbowo Sebua Nias movie. The objectives of the study were to investigate the types of figures of speech used in Lua-Lua Mbowo Sebua Nias movie and the use of figures of speech in the movie itself. The use of types of figures of speech in the movie was influenced by the situation in each scene that refered to philosophy of life, norms, advice, belief or culture of Nias people.
