In the framework of a fast-changing globalized economy, European small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are at the crossroads of international external pressures and internal reaction constraints. This volume draws upon the importance of leveraging European SMEs' intellectual capital in the context of internationalization and development of sustainable international partnerships, in order to create and maintain relevant competitive advantages. At a practical level, it explores the European initiatives and the Romanian legal, governmental and institutional instruments aimed at supporting the SMEs in their various endeavors, from accessing relevant knowledge to deploying successful operations in foreign markets.
