If the history of film exhibition in Latin America is still in its take-off phase, biographical approaches to businessmen dedicated almost exclusively to this branch of film entertainment are even scarcer. This text traces the careers of the film exhibitors and officials Guillermo Pérez Gavilán Mendarózqueta and Celestino Díaz González, based on a series of interviews with their respective sons, Juan Fernando Pérez Gavilán and José Díaz Rodríguez, as well as the search of data in bibliographic and hemerographic files. By a mixture of chance and necessity, the trajectories of both had moments of intertwining and coincidence in Mexico.
