The authors analyze a variety of issues related to recent finance problems, including corporate finance, public finance, monetary and fiscal policy issues, and risk management. The book also discusses topics related to sustainable finance, the transition to green economies, corporate sustainability and sustainable development. The target audience for this book includes researchers at universities and research and policy institutions, graduate students, and practitioners in economics, finance and international economics working for private or government institutions.
Agnieszka Bem is an assistant professor at the Wroclaw University of Economics (Faculty of Management, Informatics and Finance). She holds a master's degree and PhD in economics from the same university. Her main fields of research are public finance, health economics and financial management in non-profit organizations and she is the author or co-author of over 100 publications, mainly in English. In addition to her teaching duties, she also regularly serves on the Supervisory Boards and Social Council in health care institutions as a representative of the Marshall of Voivodeship. She is also involved as a promoter of the international conference "Financial Management - Theory and Practice" - the 16th installment of which took place in May 2015. She has received several awards for her scientific achievements. Karolina Daszy¿ska-¿ygad¿o is an assistant professor at the Corporate Finance department at Wroclaw University of Economics, where she also received her PhD in Finance. Her major fields of research are corporate valuation, financial planning and corporate sustainability. She has authored and coauthored more than 50 scientific papers. She is a member of the editorial board of Inzinerine Ekonomika-Engineering Economics (Impact factor 0.871 (2014)). In addition to research and teaching she is engaged in business consulting and mentoring, especially for early-stage business ideas and start-ups. Peter Juhasz is an associate professor at Corvinus University, Budapest. He holds a master's degree in Economics and a PhD in Business Administration from the same university. He is a CFA charterholder and a qualified coach. His main fields of research are business valuation, valuation of off-balance sheet assets, financial modeling, and financial competitiveness of firms. In addition to teaching, he also regularly acts as a consultant for Hungarian SMEs and is the secretary of the CFA Society of Hungary. Ing. Täána Hajdíková, Ph.D. graduated from the Technical University in Ostrava with a specialization in tax and accounting. After graduation she dedicated her professional focus to company management, especially accounting, tax consulting and economic analysis of enterprises. She currently works as an assistant professor at the University of Economics, Prague, Faculty of Management in Jind¿ich¿v Hradec, where she also successfully completed her doctoral studies in the economics and management field. She is the author and co-author of several professional papers. Her main research interest lies in the evaluation of financial performance, primarily for non-profit organizations.
