Financial inclusion is regarded as a core objective of many countries as several research findings suggest a strong and direct correlation between the financial exclusion and poverty. Financial inclusion is one of a tool through which inclusive growth can be achieved as it mobilizes more resources for productive purposes leading to higher economic growth, better opportunity and reduction of poverty. Financial Inclusion also develops effective financial service delivery mechanism which in turns develops economy and promotes equitable allocation of resources. The book aims to make a detailed analysis of the impact of important Government Sponsored Schemes (GSS) and the banking infrastructure on the financial inclusion of rural households. Further, the impact of financial inclusion is examined for gender empowerment and household development in the rural areas of Kumaun Himalayas.
