More than 3 decades ago I had a deep conviction that there was something seriously amiss with the home loan. A home loan that hasn't changed in the last 70 years and one that probably dates back to the days of early settlement. It helps get the house and that's all (doesn't help keep it). Australia has a culture of home ownership like no other country on earth. There are millions of houses in Australia perhaps 30/40 million with mortgages. Men and women everywhere bite the bullet and take out a H/L. They stump up the deposit, meet the solicitor's conveyancing cost and enter into a long-term repayment commitment over 3 decades or longer. This is undeniably an act of courage! I am sure that many of them don't realise what is involved. The lucky ones survive and there are those that are successful in other areas. Many though are not so lucky. The current Home Loamn (H/L) doesn't have any frills. It is a brutal facility that can see the family home lost overnight in a variety of ways. Some H/L borrowers will also never know that their loss might have been due to irresponsible lending (equity lending) - the lender's domain. Health issues, sudden job loss, death of a spouse, children with health difficulties are nearly always outside the control of the home buyer. A H/L is a long term repayment commitment and none of us are privy to future events. There are many aspects to my wealth creation system - life changing aspects that you will never get with a loan. I encourage you to read on.
