Take a Scarlett O'Hara type character and put her on the Celestine Prophecy trail in Atlanta in the late 1980's, and you will find Emma St. Claire searching for answers to troubling dreams and visions. It all starts in an economics class at the college where Emma has enrolled to pursue a degree in accounting. "He's special -- protect him," says the little gray-haired woman, who appears to Emma in a vision when her economics professor enters the classroom. Strong shivers shake Emma to the core and she is terrified by the vision. Who is this little woman? What is she doing here? Why is Emma having a vision? Why is he special? And from what is Emma to protect him? And then the dreams and nightmares about the professor begin to bombard Emma on a nightly basis. They don't make any sense. But somewhere along the way, Emma is told that the little gray-haired lady's name is Margaret. She also knows that a disaster awaits the professor and that many people will die. Seeing it as a chance to redeem herself from the foreboding dream she had as a 17-year-old, that lead to the death of 123 Atlantans in the Orly, France plane disaster in June of 1962, Emma works with a well-respected psychologist to unravel the mystery of the dreams, and prevent another tragedy in her beloved city of Atlanta.
