Without a positive male role model in his life, he has the burden of figuring out what it is to become a young man. Will Boogie find "Purpose" or will he learn just another hard lesson?

Mark L Baynard is an author, youth advocate, and a true success story. He overcame a past of crime, drugs, and prison by now making a difference in his community. Mark faced a lot of challenges as a teenager. His experiences with drugs led to him serving two separate prison sentences equaling to 15 years behind bars. After being released in 2004, he wanted to make a difference in the community. He moved from Wilmington, Delaware to Montgomery, Alabama to get a fresh start. He quickly started working with troubled youth. He got married and his wife and he now share an 11-year-old together. He earned an Associate Degree in 2012, a Bachelors' Degree in 2014, and a Masters' Degree in 2017. He released the book "100 Years: A Journey to End a Vicious Cycle" in February of 2015. He released "These are Your Flowers" in August of 2015. He released "100 Years II: Truth Be Told" in August of 2016. He released "Finding Purpose: Boogie's Story" in April of 2018. Mark plans on releasing more books in the future. Mark started a Community Organization called Universal Community Advocacy Network (U Can). He offers a Youth Mentoring Services as he goes to a Public School and work with at-risk youth. He also has a Youth Literacy Program where he places books in barbershops and beauty salons. He plans on encouraging children between the ages of 4 and 12 to read while waiting for haircuts.
