Abandonment, betrayal, heartbreak, and lack of trust.Sarah Wilkinson has found passion as a painter whose skillful talent was shaped and influenced by many, including two past female artists who came from different worlds and different centuries, yet both defied the odds against women becoming successful artists. Evolved from the Annie's Journey series, Sarah was living in a tent painting the wild animals of the Serengeti in East Africa when Annie met her. They quickly became close friends, but what Annie was unaware of is the heartbreaking childhood Sarah experienced before she struggled to find her way into the competitive art world. As a result, it was Annie who would force Sarah to confront her destiny and make a choice that would forever change her life. Her father, in a letter written just before his death, referred to Sarah as a phoenix that rises from the ashes to new heights. Follow along as Sarah surpasses one pitfall after the other, painstakingly getting closer to finding her sense of purpose. Can artistic success help Sarah escape the ashes of her childhood to believe in second chances and allow her inner phoenix to soar?
Autorenporträt
Nina Purtee is a worldwide traveler, philosopher, and adventure romance novelist. Growing up in Atlanta, Nina's father ignited her travel obsession with lavish family trips to exotic locations. Some of those experiences have found their way into her writing. Island-hopping with her family through the Greek Islands on a 95-foot sailboat, the Eleni, gave Nina the inspiration for Don Marco's vessel, the Porto Banus. While on safari in East Africa, she met a woman artist with her companion, a sculptor, living in tents immersed in their artwork. They inspired the characters of Annie's friend, Sarah, and the sculptor, Sam. Nina draws from her travels to embrace multicultural characters and couples seemingly from different worlds and allow them to compromise, co-exist, accept each other's traditions, and even find love. The sudden death of a colleague left Nina desolate and became the catalyst for Annie's journey to seek balance, understanding, and resolution. Beyond the Sea: Annie's Journey into the Extraordinary is the first in her series. Crossing Paths: The Road to Destiny, the sequel, continues Annie's journey as the cast of characters surrounding Annie on her next challenging chapter widens and matures. Her newest novel, Finding Sarah: A Phoenix to behold, explores the fascinating life of one of Annie's close friends that she made on her journey.Tammy Ruggles with Reader Views describes Purtee as "a natural storyteller, with the ability to transport readers into realms of imagination and possibility." Nina now lives in Florida surrounded by family and friends when she is not traveling the globe seeking new experiences to write about.
