The objective of the study is to demonstrate that the Findrisc questionnaire allows quantifying the risk of developing these diseases through the application of the survey in patients older than 30 years, parish Honorato Vasquez-Cañar. Materials and methods: Descriptive, cross-sectional quantitative study, based on the collection of surveys, 365 people. Results: The persons surveyed were 69% over 45 years of age, predominantly overweight BMI (25-30kg/m2) with 38%. Physical activity level, 64.2% sedentary. 36% do not consume fruits/vegetables. 90.4% had never received antihypertensive treatment. 88% have not been detected with hyperglycemia levels before. 66% have a first or second degree relative with T2DM. The total score of the Findrisc questionnaire with more than 12 points corresponds to 38.06%.Conclusion: people older than 45 years are more likely to suffer from prediabetes and T2DM. There is a predominance of overweight and obesity BMI, high waist hip index, sedentary lifestyle, anthropometric characteristics with predominance of fat mass, endomorphic somatotype, factors contributing to the development of Prediabetes and T2DM.
