Field experiment was conducted at the eastern farm of Department of Agronomy at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru College of Agriculture and Research Institute( PAJANCOA & RI), Karaikal, during Kharif season in 2007 to investigate the Evaluation of fingermillet varieties under staggered weeks of planting during kharif season at Karaikal region. The treatment combinations consisted of three fingermillet varieties (TRY 1, CO13 and CO14) and six transplanting dates at weekly intervals (May 17th, May 24th, May 31st, June 7th, June 14th and June 21st). The treatments were evaluated in RBD with three replication to establish the "Fingermillet -Weather-Relationship" and identify the best varieties of fingermillet suitable for Karaikal region.

Mrs. T.Pandiselvi is a Ph.D (Agronomy) Scholar in Department of Agronomy, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore. She has published three research articles and 9 popular articles. She has on experience of two years (TN-IAMWARM project)in research and extension at TNAU, Coimbatore. She won best thesis award for her M.Sc thesis work.
