Publication describes the design and possible implementation of the application for synthetic fingerprint damage simulation. As the main information background, the project SFinGe, which is a pioneer in this area, was used. Area of interest is focused to fingerprint images got by optical or capacitive touch sensors and fingerprint damages caused by pressure and moisture, damage and dirt on the sensor and skin deformation. A way is described, how to implement these factors to simulate the damage of synthetic fingerprint so that the result looks like a real imperfect fingerprint. Employed methods use morphological operators and model of plastic distortion in fingerprint images. Results of developed methods are compared using commercial product and standard of fingerprint image quality. The main benefit of presented work is the way of damaging of synthetic fingerprints so that they can be tested to be worse than original and the design of application which allows expansion by other methods.
