Wild at Heart won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival and Twin Peaks was the hottest show on TV. In 1992, he released Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me. It sure is amazing how fast coffee can get cold. The film was not well received, to say the least, by critics or ticket buyers. It seemed like the verdict was in: Twin Peaks was dead and wrapped in plastic. Thirty years later, the film is thought by many to be Lynch’s masterpiece. Scott Ryan is the author of The Last Days of Letterman, Always Music in the Air, Fire Walk With Me: Your Laura Disappeared, Lost Highway: The Fist of Love, Massillon Against the World, and the best seller Moonlighting: An Oral History. He is the host of the YouTube series Tiger Talk, the co-president of Fayetteville Mafia Press and Tucker DS Press, and the managing editor and creative director of The Blue Rose magazine. Yes, he does collect vinyl records, is against streaming, and thinks the internet made everything worse.
