Autorenporträt
Mara Luar, 23 years old and with a degree in Professional Writing, has always relied on writing to be the one constant in a life full of change and chaos. Mara Luar spent their early childhood nestled on the Idaho side of the Grand Tetons. When the recession of 2008 hit, Mara Luar moved to a Hudson River town called Nyack, a little north of New York City, with family. Spending summers in rural Minnesota since a kid, Mara eventually left the busyness of New York and moved to Minnesota. Mara Luar has lived in Lake of the Woods, Breezy Point, and now Duluth. Mara Luar enjoys brewing and sipping tea, reading/writing, dive bar karaoke, lifting weights, live music, and doing anything outdoors. first love//first death is Mara Luar's debut poetry collection surrounding the experience of losing their first love to suicide.
