Ross Ulysses Munroe is an award-winning creative talent, having served as Executive Editor and writer of a number of periodicals with his wife Virginia, a children's book, various screenplays and short stories and more. He also produces and directs story-driven jazz videos and has received special recognition at the acclaimed NXNE Film Festival. Ross is known for his humour and incisive perspective on the human condition. Ross' latest work is showcased in Volume 2 of his series, First Person Singular - a collection of short stories, essays and insights certain to provoke and entertain. From the sordid to the sublime, Ross' writing is primarily drawn from his personal experience, in a delightful and unconventional mix of irony and pathos. From the Author: "When I was 18, I went to my friend Jocko's Century cottage on an island in the Kawartha Lakes for a weekend getaway with buddies. The majesty of Nature abounded, and I had an epiphany sitting on the dock with the lake all around. The wind had riffled the water with a thousand dancing maidens, glistening in the waning sun. Looking closer, a scene began to develop in every wavelet, each individually telling its own story and together, forming a grand tapestry of a unified whole. Such is the manner in which my life has played out since. And this experience has set the tone for the pages that follow, both the sublime and the mundane."
