Autorenporträt
I was born and raised in San Francisco, California. After graduating from High School, I attended the University of California, Berkeley, where I received a bachelor's degree in economics. I went on and received an MBA from San Francisco State University. Soon after, I began my lifelong career in the hospitality business. I have been married to my lovely wife Chris for over forty years. Yes, that is the same Chris Patane who illustrated the book. We have one amazing daughter, Steffani. In 2020, my wife and I both decided to retire. In 2021, we moved from Silicon Valley to a tiny, bucolic town in the North Bay called Cotati. It was in this picturesque, serene setting that I began to seriously think of the situation in this country as well as globally. I wanted to do something, no matter how small, that would ultimately have an impact. Obviously, I cannot solve the world's problems, but maybe by illustrating to children that there are lessons to be learned by morally doing the right thing, then it would be a step in the right direction. Hence, Fish Tales was created.
