Wellness is not the just the absence of disease. It is a proactive, pre-emptive approach designed to achieve optimum levels of health, social and emotional functioning. A wellness-oriented lifestyle encourages us to adopt habits and behaviors which endorse better health and an improved quality of life. This selection has a dominant influence on health and promotes all dimensions of wellness wheel comprising of physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, occupational and financial wellness of an individual. Wellness issues become all the more important when students are exposed to magnitude of medical curriculum.The anticipations from society, peers and parents add to stress which leads to impairment in all parameters of wellness. We looked for awareness of wellness in medical students and related wellness issues in public and private medical universities.The recommendations of spending five minutes to Wellness after this survey is expected to increase number of "healthyactive days" and quality of life of medical students.
