Fixed functional appliance effect seems to be effective in improving Class II malocclusion in the short term, although their effects are mainly dentoalveolar rather than skeletal. An important discriminating factor between the fixed functional appliance and removable appliance is the need for patient compliance, which is considered as an important factor on the treatment outcomes. In this dissertation the current evidence based on various FFA and its effects on TMJ, condyle, muscles, dentoalveolar and skeletal, till the date shall be discussed.
