Autorenporträt
Jörg M. Karaschewski wurde 1967 im niedersächsischen Bierden geboren. Seit Mitte der 80er Jahre beschäftigt er sich intensiv mit der Flaggenkunde (Vexillologie). Er ist einer der Gründungsväter der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Flaggenkunde. Sein Interessenschwerpunkt liegt bei den deutschen Dienstflaggen und den deutschen Kolonien. Auch praktische Flaggenhandhabung und Zeremoniell gehören dazu. Fahnen und Flaggen im Bewusstsein der breiteren Öffentlichkeit präsent zu machen, ist eine Aufgabe, die sich Jörg M. Karaschewski gestellt hat. Er lebt mit seiner Frau und seinen drei Kindern in Achim bei Bremen.
