Winnie Dumont was minding her own business riding on the floor of a Parisian taxi cab with her parents, Francine and Reynaldo when suddenly the cab lurched to the curb, jammed on the brakes, and threw her into the back of the front seat. The driver opened her car door and ran off down the street, only to be replaced by two young thugs who proceeded to drive them to an abandoned building somewhere in the city. Once stopped they were hustled down to the basement and into a dank, dark little room and became captives. This new "home" was located next to one of the many tunnels in the labyrinth that makes up the sewers of Paris. And this is where Winnie's adventure begins when she escapes the thugs only to find herself in a far more dangerous situation. Her plight worsens as she finds herself attacked by rats, encounters a pack of albino sewer dogs along with a severely wounded ballet dancer named Alain, who becomes her friend. The saga comes to an end when she winds up in the middle of a performance at the Paris Opera, and is rescued by a special friend in the audience. This entire story is brought to us by the computer program, DOGSPEAK, which translated Winnie's canine thoughts into a narrative we are all able to share.
