FLOATING WORLD, a Play in Three Acts, by Gavin Bantock A stage play with occasional moments of comedy, about spiritual emptiness in Japan around the end of the twentieth century. Fifteen people from different walks of life - relatives, friends, neighbours, colleagues and unexpected visitors - encounter various problems in a country house with a small fishpond that somehow seems to symbolize the 'floating world' in which they live. Looking back into the past, confronting the present and facing uncertainty in the future, they are all trying to find meaning and coherence in their lives. Published by FIRST SERVANT BOOKS
