The probability of flooding is expected to increase in future due to the increase in encroachment of structural features on flood plain and increase in amount of rainfall. So, it necessitates to do some research on floods for better understanding of effective measures for preventing and managing floods. The present study attempts to assess the flood effect on agricultural land, houses, household property, human beings, animals, transportation, basic services (like telephone, mobile phones, electricity, etc.), normal commercial tides and public utilities. It also intends to plan for controlling the floods and to minimize the flood affect in area. So, this study is very helpful to know about flood basics, severity of their impact and also help to comprehend that how to handle these flood situations in effective way.
