This book will expound your understanding on the nature of flooding in areas that are outside of streams where majority of the areas flood not as a result of bursting river banks but are in areas without defined drainage networks. The book brings out: · the nature of problems associated with flooding, · Estimate the prediction power of the environmental variables i.e. height above channel base, slope of drainage basin, distance from the nearest stream and soil type for flood occurrence. The flood hazard maps to represents flood occurrence in the mentioned areas are also available. The developed flood hazard maps are useful in mitigating the loss of life, property and economic well-being of communities in Ntibu, Hambeni and Sheleni from future flood disasters in Hambeni, Ntibu and Sheleni.
