At first glance, it may seem that enough research has been done so far on the emblematic figure of the cultural panorama of 11th century Al-Andalus, Ibn Hazm, universally known for his deservedly famous work, Tawq al-hamama, published in Spanish under the title El collar de la paloma (The necklace of the dove). Conversely, it must be believed that it is still possible to present serious and diverse studies on this work, particularly with the adaptation of uncommon, multifaceted and, also, favourable points of view to certain questions that are of current or, more preferably, timeless interest. From this perspective, this study aims to elaborate an approach to the aforementioned work, emphasising its multidimensional nature. Its main objective is to unweave and decipher the miscellany of the various imaginative and conceptual connotations (loaded with descriptive-affective-spiritual-spiritual-psychological nuances) generated by the world of flora and fauna, well manifested in the work, starting from the very title given to it.
