Autorenporträt
Mark has flyfished since 1971 having been originally tutored by his grandfather in the land of Ernst Hemmingway in Northern Michigan. Though his passion is dry flyfishing for brook and brown trout, Mark has fished around the United States for a variety of fish in warm, cold, and saltwater alike. Coupled with a deep passion for the outdoors and educating others, Mark and his wife co-founded a successful beginner flyfishing school (www.margolola.com) in the Driftless region of Wisconsin. Professionally, Mark has been involved in dozens of early-stage companies as a CEO, consultant, social entrepreneur and/or board member. He has also been an executive at three Fortune 50 companies. With over 40 years of business experience, Mark has dedicated the last 20 years of his career on commercializing disruptive healthcare and wellbeing ideas. Mark and his family live in Minneapolis. Kate has been a flyfishing dabbler since the 1990's, having been introduced to it on a narrow creek in Wyoming by her uncle where he spent much of the time rescuing flies from bushes. Despite catching many limbs over the years and an occasional fish here and there, Kate's true joy of the sport is the time it affords in nature and the support it bolsters to slow down, reflect, and rejuvenate. Kate left her corporate career to pursue work in the wellbeing space after a stage four cancer diagnosis. Since 2017 she has worked with individuals, groups, and organizations, including Simms, to help clients empower themselves through greater wellbeing. Kate is the owner of Enso Wellbeing Coaching (www.ensowellbeing.com) and lives in Minneapolis.
