The success of these initiatives will directly influence the long-term viability of the FM community and the support it provides its customers. This paper provides a background to three of the transformation initiatives that primarily affect base-level operations, discusses possible barriers to change and reviews the ways to overcome these barriers. Finally, the paper concludes with specific recommendations to ensure the changes are both effective and accepted.
