Folder is an urban science fiction novel. Initially set in modern day America, its continually changing settings quickly take it into unreal worlds. It is intended for the young adult to college age reader, although adults with a taste for the bizarre will also enjoy it. Eric Folder, the novel's eponymous protagonist, has just moved to Oregon to attend Portland State University when an automobile accident leaves him stricken with migraine headaches. The resulting visual effects-something real-world medical professionals term an aura and Eric calls a shimmer-grow increasingly pronounced when he comes under duress. They render him virtually blind, and therefore defenseless, when a gang of street thugs attacks him. Desperate to see and needing to protect himself, Eric reflexively tears at the luminous lines of light and finds they have become tangible. When he pulls them aside, his present reality folds away with them, leaving him in better circumstances with his enemies vanished. Successive adverse situations leave him similarly vulnerable. With each new fold his situation improves... until it doesn't. Attempts to fold his way out of subsequent perils leave him in increasingly strange situations until, eventually, his world becomes a nightmare.Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
Raymond Bolton lives near Portland, Oregon with his wife, Toni, and their two cats, Georgie & Sophia. His goal is to craft gripping stories about the human condition, whether they are set here or another world. He says this about his life:"I am of the persuasion life is too short to squander. I enjoy fine food, so I have learned to cook. I am endlessly curious about the world around me, so I read and I travel. I like people-who else is there?-so I talk and listen and try to understand what I hear. Over the years I've driven trucks, been an FM disk jockey, produced concerts, served as a mainsail trimmer on racing yachts, piloted gliders, written software, worked as a hair stylist and owned and operated my own business-all with varying degrees of success, but all have imparted a wealth of experience and taught great lessons. In the course of these doings I have had the privilege of meeting very accomplished individuals in the areas of music, movies, sports, technology, industry, finance and politics. Ultimately, all of this background comes together, struggles to find coherence and emerge in my work."
