Produktbeschreibung
Coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.; Family-Apiaceae), an important spice crop is native to Southern Europe and the Mediterranean region. Some experiments were conducted by the author at the Horticulture Field Laboratory of BSMRAU, Bangladesh to study genetic divergence, foliage and seed production. The study comprises divergence of coriander genotypes; potentiality of year round foliage production; foliage production using different nitrogen rates with its method of application, sowing method and seed rates as well as leaf cutting frequency; seed production by N, P, K & S, sowing time, irrigation levels and frequency of leaf cutting. Winter season especially from October to February, nitrogen @ 60 kg/ha applied half as basal and half at 30 days after sowing and the line sowing (10 cm) with 40-50 kg/ha seed rate were proved advantageous for foliage production. The N:P:K:S : 80:40:40:20 kg/ha, November 16 sowing, three irrigations, each at branching, flowering and fruiting stage gavethe highest seed yield. N@ 80 kg/ha in combination with three foliage cuttings gave the maximum foliage yield while one cutting with the same N dose produced the highest seed yield.
