This book aims to show how folklore can facilitate the process of teaching history in the classroom in Brazilian primary and secondary schools, using jokes, songs, games and comic strips as tools to help educators. In this way, as well as facilitating the teaching process, it will make the teacher-student relationship more harmonious and, at the same time, rescue Brazilian culture, which today is so neglected by new technologies and the "foreignisms" that are taking over our country, causing our myths to be relegated to the background, threatening our folklore with extinction and destroying our culture. The aim is to change this threatening situation with regard to our traditions and put an end to the idea that folklore is associated with old and outdated things, just because we live in a world of great technological apparatus, where what is not included is excluded and denied.
