People from all walks of life opened their doors and allowed Linda Curd Laker in. She was their public health nurse. Traveling country lanes and city streets, she visited patient after patient. Meet some of them-an Amish child, community figures, a trio of siblings, migrant workers-in FOLKS: Memoirs of a Public Health Nurse, a compilation of thirty-six years of caring for others, and getting back plenty in return.

Autorenporträt
Linda Curd Laker lives in the small city of Hornell, New York, with her husband of twenty-nine years. She reads for pleasure with The Southern Tier Lit Chicks, whose gatherings could be mistaken for a Finger Lakes wine club. An avid quilter, Linda designs and stitches for dear friends, family, and other loved ones in an effort to capture their stories and personalities with color, material, and patterns. This is her first book.
