Brett Nichols is a retired police detective. During his nearly three-decade-long career within the Miami-Dade Police Department, he served as a uniform patrol officer, major case crime scene investigator, homicide detective, and traffic homicide investigator. Throughout his tenure, he was involved in over a thousand homicides and has worked with some of the best detectives in the US. When not writing, he spends his days volunteering and playing cards. He now resides in Georgia.
