The Food & Survival Plants Along the Pacific Crest Trail series of handbooks is the culmination of almost 20 years of field work. This is the second of the six handbooks developed for hikers of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) and covers the 520 miles in Southern California from Warner Springs to Walker Pass. These handbooks were created to introduce hikers (both through- and section-hikers) to the abundance of wild and native foods along this 2,650-mile long trail. More importantly, it provides an opportunity for people wanting to spice up the ramen noodles and dehydrated meals that are not always that tasty.
