Giuseppe Iacono nasceu em Palermo (Itália) em 1946. É médico desde 1971 e especializado em Pediatria e Gastroenterologia desde 1973. É Diretor do Departamento de Gastroenterologia Pediátrica do "Hospital Pediátrico" de Palermo. O Dr. Iacono é autor de centenas de publicações científicas sobre Doença Celíaca, Alergia Alimentar, Gastroenterologia.
