The human diet plays a determining role in the maintenance of its sanitary balance as well as in the improvement of the state of health during illness or convalescence. This book is an attempt to bring out in a very succinct way the key elements for a diet adapted to sportsmen and women of several disciplines while making use of local products easy to find and consume in the Republic of Mali. In the Republic of Mali we practice a lot of soccer, basketball, martial arts, boxing, athletics and also other sports. We thought it wise to classify our athletes according to the energy expenditure caused by the practice of different sports; better still, to classify them according to the energy expenditure recorded during training. This is to allow the athletes to recover quickly from exhaustion and to continue training as long as possible; that is to say, to prolong their sports career. A diet designed with this in mind would also be valid during the internship period in preparation for decisive competitions, and also during tournaments.
