European Strategic Guidelines for Rural Development addresses the issue of competitiveness in terms of establishing functional relationships between agriculture, forestry, food industry competitiveness in the European context. A vital issue for food chains in Romania is the restructuring and modernization of capital by attracting foreign investment in all sectors, but especially in the food industry. Accelerating the integration will be combined with efforts to achieve quality requirements and standards of the European Community to form a viable agricultural sector, competitive, able to give Romania an advantageous position in the European market to produce high standards in terms of efficiency.
