Achieving food security is still a major problem for households in most rural areas of Nepal. This book presents the food security situation of Chepang communities of Nepal on basis of all four indicators (food availability, food access, food utilization and food stability) of food security. The author has tried to assess their food sufficiency scenario, knowing the coping strategies adopted by them in food deficit situation and exploring the role of informal education for devising the coping strategies. The author has used Entitlement approach of Amartya Sen focusing on famine and Sustainable Livelihood Approach of Department for International Development (DFID) focusing on livelihood.
